Sue is a dedicated volunteer firefighter. She has taken courses and is qualified and certified by the State of New Jersey to act as a safety officer, fire inspector, fire subcode official, forest firefighter, pump operator, and many other functions within a fire department.
She is an active member of the North Caldwell Volunteer Fire Company, www.ncvfd.org, and the Fire Service Women of New Jersey, www.fswnj.org .
Mutual Aid call on Apartment Building on Westover Avenue, Caldwell on August 3. 2001 A 4 alarmer. 11 injuries!! One firefighter with chest pain. Floor refinisher with 3rd-degree burns. When firefighters arrived people were trying to jump out of windows. Heavy smoke condition because fire doors in stairways had been propped open.
