So how did a truck that was stationed in the Midwest end up being sold at auction in New Jersey? No one can definitively tell me, however the most plausible explanation came from my friend, Col. John Dwyer, who offered:

"300th Military Police Company, USAR, is (was) located in Cincinnati, Ohio and may have been called up in the aftermath of 9-11-01 for Homeland Security duty. If they shed their dueces and got new equipment, that may very well have happened at Fort Dix where they would have mobilized. When called to active duty, units come-as-they-are, but can receive more state of the art equipment at the mobilization station."

The 384th MP battalion is currently (as of March, 2003) deployed to Iraq as part of Coalition Joint Task Force (CJTF) 7.
